How to clear Bios for Asus K7M Rev 1.04????????????

How do you clear the Bios. It won't accept my pword that I gave it. And I lost the Book.

turn off computer. unplug it
unplug the power connector from the motherboard
take out the cmos battery for five mintues.
put it back and reconnect everything in the order you unplugged it.
boot up.

According to the manual, you turn off the power, unplug the power cord, and short two solder pads together with a screwdriver. The manual is available online.
 
I tried the solder point method and it did not seem to work. I will try to remove the battery and see if that works.
