Long story short I had an ant problem a few weeks ago and being the insecto-phobe that I am I laid down a huge line of cinnamon on my tile floor under my door to stop the ants from moving rooms. I can't seem to get it up. It's not staining anything, but its just really difficult to pick up, even with a wet rag. I'm assuming this is because the powder is resistant to being moistened (a la Cinnamon challenge). Any idea how to best get the cinnamon off the floor? Google isn't helping.

Get down real low to the ground, press one nostril to the floor, cover up the other, and snort.

Or just be normal and either get a vacuum, or just sweep it out the door if you have no vacuum.

No idea but you should use boric acid baits instead.

Sounds like it has absorbed just enough moisture to become caked on.

The best solution is probably going to be a bucket of floor cleaner, a scrubbing sponge, and a lot of elbow grease.

Well, I've heard it all now.

Between this and the cooking oil lubricant thread, I honestly feel like a master fix-it man from just doing 2 years of commercial electric and several more in touch-up carpentry.

Are blue collar metro men really this inept?

Terro is boric acid, and yeah, it works for *some* ants.
Cinnamon also works (but differently than boric acid, it don't kill them per se), but, not for all ant types.
Citronella doesn't work for any ants that I have seen...

I don't know man, I think once you pour cinnamon on the floor as a barrier to keep the ants in the other room, you're in a whole 'nother place from me.

Plain water won't readily soak into the cinnamon. You should try a wetting agent with the water to decrease the surface tension and aid it in getting other things wet. One of the more common wetting agents is called "soap." I'm not sure what your local availability will be, but if you ask in the store, and tell them what the application is, someone might know which type you're looking for.
