How to clean the thermal paste and will this cooler fit?

Rubbing alcohol. If you are cleaning copper, get something that's 90% or higher.
The heatsink shouldn't be a problem. As long as it says it'll work for 775. If you really want the Vanquisher, get it at buy.com for for $24.
Otherwise, try the Xigmatek for better performance at about the same price.

yeah but if he gets it at newegg, they combine shipping, which would probably be more then 2 dollars at buy.com. 😛

Personally id grab the Xigmatek tho as r00kie linked.
 
i got the Freezer 7 pro in the end...didn't install it yet.
I don't have any rubbing alcohol..is nail polish remover good as well? what else works fine?
 
Why do you not keep questions in the same thread? They're all cooling related...sheesh.

You can get alcohol swabs for 1.99 for a 100 pack from your local pharmacy. I use that to clean my heatsinks.
