How to clean my DSLR?

Guess i left my lens off a bit too long when swapping my 18-200vr and my 50 1.8.

I guess there is now some small dust not only on the mirror, but judging on my pics, on the sensor too.

Do local photo shops professional clean this or should i send my D70 to nikon?

when the sensor brushes first became big, everyoen at dpr was all hyped about them because it was supposed to be an easy way to remove dust, then the o sh!t i runined my camera threads started, that was a while ago, so possibily things have gotten better

Get one of the brushes from visible dust

I got one two summers ago, works great. Looks like they have a lot more products now with different line-ups (I think they'd just started up when I ordered), so you may be able to get something better or cheaper.

Anyway, quality stuff.

Yeah, but it was user error, people being idiots or having shaky hands and hulk-smashing their sensors...not the brush that caused the problems.

I love the dust reduction system in my Oly. 😛

that's about the only cool thing 😉

If you really want to believe that... 😛

The price of 4/3 system lenses? Count me out.

They are a bit steep, but you get what you pay for. Just like with L glass from Canon.

Ugg, I personally don't feel like paying the price of a 400mm for what really is a 200mm piece of glass, since the 2x crop factor takes care of the 400mm. I will admit that this approach does offer interesting benefits, since they can effectively offer like a 35-100mm f/2 lens without too much bulk due to the crop factor since its actually a 15-50mm lens. But to PRICE it as a 35-100mm f/2.... ouch. Even L can't touch those prices.

Lenses like the 35-100mm and the 150mm are outrageous, but the 14-54 and 50-200 are two very good lenses for the price. Right now all I have is the 28mm f/2.8 and 50mm f/1.8 OM lenses. I'm waiting for my 50-200. 🙂

Those Zuiko lenses are one of the most high quality lenses you could get for DSLRs. Mike johnston on the sunday morning photographer publisher actually tied it with leica for the highest quality line of lenses.

I tried to use a wet swab, but only put more crap on the sensor in the end.
It was like $25 to have it cleaned professionally at the Nikon authorized repair store. Worth ever ypenny, and they do it within one day. Plus, they aren't too far either, so I don't have to ship stuff over.

I'm using pumped air from now on to clean the sensor - works much better.

Agreed, wet cleaning should only be done by the pros. Do-it-yourself people should stick with dry brushes.
