I have a Canon BJC-6000. I haven't printed in color for a long time (months). I did some troubleshooting on my printer and found out that I cannot print magenta. More troubleshooting rendered a clogged print cartridge. I need to know how I unclog the magenta "port" on my BC-31e printhead. Any advice would be appreciated....

Thanks,
Brian

P.S. Check out Canon's response (worst technical support EVER!):

Dear Brian Fischer,

Thank you for writing to us.

I apologize for any inconvenience with the printer.

The next step to take is to replace the BC-31e printhead. This is the
holder of the colored ink tanks. To order directly from Canon, please
call our Sales Department. They can be reached by calling 1-800-385-2155. They are open from Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 10:00 pm EST. Any ink tanks that you have purchased can be kept as backup ink.

Thank you for your interest in Canon. We look forward to assisting you in the future.

Sincerely,

Angela

INQUIRY: I cannot print from the magenta cartridge in my printer. I have tried both regular, deep cleaning, multiple tanks and after inspection of the cartridge it appears that the "cartridge" (not tank) has a clogged magenta port. How can this be fixed?

Several soakings (except the circuit board part ;)) in warm water and lots of swearing will eventually do the trick. Maybe someone knows a better solvent for this though?

Stupid Canon printers. Mine would do this all the time if I didn't remember to print at least a test page occasionally :|
