Buy a new one. Flashlights are cheap.

a 3 D cell maglite is $25

Since when was 25 bucks not cheap? 😕

yeah, really. Real flashlights cost upwards of $400.

Really, please some links. The most expensive flashlight I can find is a professional flashlight for firemen at $127

Surefire Beast less than 100 units made available to civilians and all sold in a few months. Price: $2,000.00.

They can get even more expensive as well depending on which configuration you have.

My EDC has its own microprocessor and is programmable, takes up less space than a single D battery and can put out over 60 lumens on high. A four D cell mag light, for example, puts out 42 lumens.

I stand corrected. I should have known that there would be some really expensive military and police equipment out there. 😱 Still, for most users a Maglite is all you need.

get a real flashlight, that should help

Better then a MagLite? Those are probably the best traditional flashlights made. Please tell us what you would suggest.
