I am not sure what to put in the Author part in the Citations page of my paper... Also in the context of the paper when when I quote from it... would it look like this?

"American author who . . . " (Notes, 85-90)

Or do I use the Editors name in place of the Author??????

Using Cliff Notes might not be the best thing. ;)

You should probably use the author's name. If the Cliff Notes got it from another book or whatever, then that'll be the answer. But if they didn't, then just use the editor/compiler at the beginning of the Cliff Notes.

you dont have to parenthically site if you paraphrase. i always wind up paraprhasing since citing is a pain in the ass. try rewording, and then just add the cliffs notes bio to the works cited page and cite the appropriate pages there
