How to chose your computer screen?

I've just gotten almost everything I need for my new/first build. All I'm missing is the keyboard, mouse and monitor.

However I'm out of touch with today's gear and I really have no idea how to chose your computer screen.

Graphics card will be a GTX460 and I don't download or watch much HD stuff... so I want something big enough (20" or 22") but that won't make me feel like the stuff I'm watching is too low quality.

I just went by my local Saturn and most 1920x1080 didn't look amazing...
Should I go with a lower sized screen, which would also be cheaper, or is there not much point?

I'm willing to spend about 200 euros just for the screen...

Thanks!

Can you get the Dell 2209WA 22 inch for 200 Euros? I bought min in Apr 2009 for US$220.

I think this is the only 22" with an IPS panel. There could be more, but I haven't been looking for one since I bought this 22". IPS panel has the best color accuracy and the image doesn't change because you look at it from different angles.

Thanks, I'll look into it.

EDIT: the model you mention is about 350 euros here, excluding taxes (99% of Euro prices include prices, this is very weird and more worrying :( )

Looking into this one here:

However there's a delay of 5 to 7 days until it gets shipped... while I'm getting the last parts I need on Thursday.

Should I go HDMI or VGA, with the GTX460..?

I usually just go for a 30-inch if my needs aren't that colour critical (if it is, then I turn to either the 24-inch Eizo's or the HP Dreamcolour's. I don't have need for too much of this, so I only have a couple of both). You can always ramp down the res for games, and a large screen is more immersive/useful.

27-incher is also good for the same sort of immersiveness, but at a lower price.

Thanks everyone.

For this one I'd rather buy in store so I guess I'll just get the 22" or 20" screen that fits my budget with the best specs I can find in town... Dells are too expensive and take too long to get here, and I sure do not need anything bigger than this (I won't use the PC from far away and I've never had a TV in my life; even 20" seems huge!)
