How to Choose a Startup Disc on Mac OS X

The disc/hard drive which enables you to have the content of your system stored in it is referred to as the startup disc on Mac. The user will be using the default startup disc of MAC unless and until he chooses for his own disc by changing it. Users will be able to choose the disc by performing below given simple steps that needs to be followed before choosing the Disc on your MAC system.

Step 1
Select the ‘System Preferences’

You can open ‘System Preferences’ using Dock on your system and enter on to System Preferences to choose.

Step 2
Click on the ‘Startup Disk Option’

Click the lock, enter the ‘Password’ to select the disc. This will enable you to choose the disc for administration purposes.

Step 3
Select the Disc you Want to Choose for your System

Once you will choose the disc of your desired type to start your system with, ‘Relock’ to prevent further changes.

Step 4
Click on 'Lock Icon' to Relock and Prevent Further Changes

This will not allow user to unnecessary change the Startup disc without ‘Administration Password’.

Step 5
Use Option Key on Keyboard

The option key will enable user to boot back while system restart, to change the disc to MAC OS if some other is the disk i.e. required.

Using above steps are the simplest to switch to the startup disk in MAC System.
