How to choose a gaming monitor?

Hello folks
I have been having some trouble finding a good gaming monitor
I dont know what critera to look for


can you compare these monitors ? are either of them good for gaming
what i have now:

what i may get:

neither really talks about what refresh rate they have
the important things for gaming monitor is refresh rate, c/d ratio, anything else?

That said these days you'd be more interested in the features and technologies offered than stats like response time and contrast ratio. Now you need to know, is it LCD or IPS? LCD is the standard that is fast so gaming is good, but IPS displays are also getting fast enough for gaming and have better color and viewing angle. It is 60Hz or 120Hz? 120Hz can feel smoother to some, raise the framerate that's locked if you play with v-sync enabled, and lets you play in 3D if you have Nvidia's 3D Vision set up. It could be something you have no use for though, so it might be worth saving money with a 60Hz monitor.

Buy a FW900 CRT used for like 50 bucks. Game on it, and on your desktop use the LCD. gl
