How can I check the voltage from the Powersupply to the MotherBoard?

I can check for the powersupply to CD Drives or Hard disk drives or other peripherals as I can switch the computer on?

If I yank the power pin to the Motherboard and try to check whether it is 12 V it would not work. The PS will not work/start without the Motherboard connection.

FYI - Athlon XP, ASUS A7V333 Mobo, Allied 400W PS.

The machine's video card is causing problems (monitor flickers once in a while even after high refresh rates). The motherboard utility (an application/software provided by ASUS) for voltage and fanspeed shows the power as 13.5 V instead of 12V. I just wanted to make sure with a voltmeter what is the voltage going to the Powersupply.

I have seen lots of people with that board talking about the high 12v. rail.

Easiest way to check with a multimeter is just to back-probe the connector.

With the board plugged in and running, stick the probe into the back of the connector and touch the pin, you need a needle-type probe.
