how to check motherboard?

I have a dell and i have no idea how to see what kind of mobo it uses. Is there any way to check through control panel or something?

google for CPUID OR MBM5 { mother board monitor version 5} and it will id the componets

Belar Advisor and Aida32 will do it. MBM5 will not AFAIK (it's for monitoring temps and voltages).

Aida32 is now called Everest Home edition. Get it HERE

temp probes. turns out Everest Home edition is great for figuring out your specs or whatever. thanks fern!

All mobo's I have seen have at least two temp probes built-in (cpu whether diode or socket, and System temp).

When you go into BIOS (usually PC Health section or whatever), you will see these temps. MBM5 reads off of these and allows you to see the data while in the OS.

Why dont you just open up the case & look at the numbers on the board itself?
