How to check disk size remotely

Say you connect to a computer on a network via explorer ( \\computer-name\c$ )

where do you see the volume size for that disk?

If you click properties on it, only gives network drive type info but no mention of size & disk free space

mount -t smbfs //computer/share /mnt/sharename
df

those work great for me!

You have to map/mount it someplace, there might be a tool to query that information without mapping/mounting the volume but I don't know of any that comes with any OS out of the box.
