How to change Your Job safely?

In your personal experiences, what is the best way to change from a job to another? I've heard that you should first get the new job and then give them a 2 week notice. But this give me a problem. How am i going to give the new job a reference if i don't tell my old job that i'm leaving?

you should put on the resume the "may we contact" box .. check no. and specify that you do not wish your current employer to know that you are searching for a job... most employers will understand this...

make sure that you have strong personal references on your application/resume

what type of job is it?

Oh just some part-time job. Ya know the kind where 18 yrs old people get 🙂. Anyway, wouldn't checking that box give the employer a bad image of you already?

go into the job interview/application dressed similar to workers at the location you intend on working... if its fast food... wear some jeans and a nice shirt.. if its a sales job.. go in wearing khakis and a nice shirt..etc..etc.etc... and when you talk to eveyrone be confident and professional... those first impressions will override anything else..

if you havent been fired from a job, or had any felony arrrests..etc.etc..etc.. then most part time jobs will be fairly simple to get... its just a matter of being confident about your abilities...
