I hate havingn a white background, then having the text underneath my icons be white with a drop shadow on them. Does anyone know how to change the font color for them and/or wether or not you can change the drop shadow color as well?

if anyone knows how to do it, let me know!

to get rid of the background in icon text:
right click My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced tab ->Settings button in "Performance" -> Visual Effects tab ->scroll down to "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" and check it

that should do it, not the easiest thing to find 😛

Yeah, that worked, but now it has the old school look to it... which I wasn't really going for, I guess I'm looking just to change the Font color to black.
