...I guess not the whole thing, my sister is a spanish teacher and she needs to use the ~ in the right spot...basically be able to type in spanish and maybe spell check in spanish?

Is this possible?

she's using winme...I have xppro on my computer though if that matters :0, I know there's a language thing in control panel or somewhere...does this actually work?

If she just needs to be able to type spanish letters there are shortcuts for all of them in Word. Or you can use the Insert---->symbol command to to place them in text as well.

...and if her word processor is old or not Word, she can use the "Character Map" program to insert characters and to learn the character numeric codes. You can insert characters by code using the numeric keypad:
- press and hold the ALT
- type on the keypad "0" <digit> <digit> <digit> (e.g. 0181 = µ )
- release the ALT key

She could make herself a cheat sheet table of the codes and print it.
