MS again went all "smart" because searching for "change default font in Win8" only comes up with some REGISTRY HACKS (!!) to change the UGLY default Windows font, Segoe UI.

But here is the solution:

You can set whatever font to your preferred font. After that you go to

Control Panel --> Display and can set the SIZE for each as well.

I never really liked the Segoe UI font, I now set all to my beloved Arial 10 and all is great again, including my mails in Thunderbird

Like all Windows recent versions - right click on desktop, look at Windows color, and underneath it says select advanced settings. That gives you the entries for every part of Windows in a dropdown. You select the font, size, and attributes. You can always revert to default with one click.

Can you show me a screen shot? Because I do NOT have this in Win8.1! I can only change the sizes of fonts.
