How to change the NAT address of my comp?

I have a Netgear RT314 router and am trying to figure out how to change the network address on this computer from 192.168.0.5 to 192.168.0.2.
The address of the router itself is 192.168.0.1.

When I wanted to do something like this in the past, it seemed all I had to do was power down the router and then restart it with the computer in question being the first one started up on the network.

There must be something simple that I am overlooking?

Thx for any tips.

Why don't you just set the IP address manually on the computer you want using 192.168.0.2? (disable dhcp in the tcp/ip settings)

Then make sure your DHCP address range on the router doesn't include 192.169.0.2 so you don't get a conflicting address (maybe set the DHCP range to 192.168.0.10 - 192.168.0.256 so you will still have a range of addresses for manual configuration you can use if needed).

You will also need to input your DNS addresses and such on the computer you wanted to use 192.168.0.2.

Personally I'd set all the computers on your network to a fixed IP then you know exactly what address they are using.
