
Users might want to highlight some certain portion of the text they read or write. Highlighting of text ensures that the specified portion of text is not missed from one’s attention. Important information, notes, the specific section of information can be highlighted for one’s reference. You can choose your preferred highlight color. Here is how you can change the highlight color in the Mac OS X.
Step 1
Select ‘Apple Icon’
Firstly, the user should select the ‘Apple Icon’ that is located at the top left corner of the Mac screen as shown below. You will then be able to see the different options.

Step 2
Select ‘System Preferences’
From the list of system related options, the user should choose the ‘System Preferences’ option. This will lead you to the settings options related to hardware, software and the system.

Select ‘General’ Option
In the 'System Preferences' window, select the ‘General’ option to view the basic settings for your Mac OS X system.

Select ‘Highlight Color’
In the general settings option, you can select your favorite ‘Highlight Color’ from the list as shown below. After selection, you will see the text highlighted with the color you chose.

'Text Highlight Color' is Displayed
You can choose the highlight color for the selected text. Here you can see the red color being chosen as the highlight color for the selected text as shown below.

Select ‘Other’ Option
You can also choose some other gradience of color other than the ones listed in the highlight color options. For this, you need to choose ‘Other’ option.

Step 7
Select the ‘Color Gradient’
In the colors window, you can select the tone and gradience of the highlight color with the help of your mouse pointer as shown below.

You can now easily change the highlight color in the Mac OS X by following the above steps.
