I brought my desktop home from college, but I left the desktop res at 1280x1024, and non the monitors at home support it. I can get into safe mode. How can I change the resolution in normal mode to something lower?

Go to the Windows desktop (by closing everything or hitting windowskey-D. Right-click on the desktop and choose Properties. Then go to the Settings tab, and the resolution slider should be there.

Mybe if that dosen't work try removing your display adpter in safe mode then rebooting.

let us know if you fix it.

Well I get no video in normal mode I can't change it, and changing it in safe mode doesn't affect normal mode.

try removing the driver of the video card in safe mode or uninstalling it. that should kick it to 800x600

try pressing F8 right before windows boots (before the load screen,) and select VGA mode. that should reset it to default mode.

If you are running an Nvidia card, you could use the Nvidia control panel to change your settings.

And if you are using an ATI cared, use their control panel or center - which ever is installed.
