I have two displays hooked up to my HTPC, one HDTV using component out and a LCD using DVI out. I am just using the LCD to set it up so I didn't have to try and set everything up using the TV.

But, I got everything functioning and the last thing to do was change the primary display from the LCD to the HDTV. I used the "Force TV Detection" within the nvidia display settings and then made it 1920x1080. It works, but it changed the resolution once back to 640x480 and that would make nothing display on my television. I changed it back and it seemed to work. So, I checked the button to use the HDTV as the primary display, and then it turned black and now I can't use the Properties setting to change the display back. It didn't even give me the 15 second "change your mind" option.

So, currently: HDTV is the primary display that shows nothing, LCD is secondary display that shows the extended desktop and is working.

This happened twice, the first time I reinstalled and now I'm just hoping somebody can tell me how to change it back without seeing the primary display. Sorry if the post is a little hard to read, I'm just really frustrated at nvidia right now.

Put the LCD on the 'primary', disconnect the HDTV, and reboot (in safe mode if necessary)? If you can't see the desktop after you boot, hit F8 while booting and come up in safe mode (which should be 640x480, or maybe it's 800x600 now). Then you can fix your settings and reboot normally.
