How to change IP?

I tried many tricks to change my ip but none seems to work.

If anyone one know any quick way (no shut down your modem and wait few hours) then plz share.

The way should work, do not post and theories or anything. If it works for Comcast Cable and Verizon DSL Modem/router, then share, plz.

Thank you.

There is no "quick" way, I believe that both your ISP and your cable modem remember your IP and usually try to get the same one back. Sometimes I have had IPs for six months.

Moral of the story? Don't get banned. 😛

Or do not try to buy more than one item from an outlet that limit the sale to One.😉

same here inlinefive i almost remembered mine!!! it was same for so long

If you have a router just change the mac address in the mac address clone section if it has that feature. I do it all the time. Cox assigns IPs by the mac address of the device plug into the modem. And the modem can usually only sync up to 1 cpe mac address (aka nic/router) at a time (unless you pay for more IPs).

This is probably the same with other ISPs.

This cracks me up. I consider myself so lucky that I have the same 'dynamic' IP I've had for years. It makes it so easy to do remote work back to home, I don't need to use dyndns.
