How to change Excel and Word Desktop Icons ?

Compared to the other customised Icons on my desktop Word and Excel look poor..... I cannot though work out how to change them.

Does anyone know how to and also are there any better Icons available for them ?

Open Windows Explorer

Tools->Folder Options->File Types

Choose the file extension you want to change, ie XLS

Press Advanced

Press Change Icon

You can make any icon you want really with some freeware icon editors.
