How To Change Drive Letter

I've got...

Floppy Drive on drive A
Local Disc on drive C
CD-Rom on drive D
Zip Drive on drive E
CD-RW on drive F

My Zip Drive used to be on drive B
How can I make it go back to drive B
and CD-RW back to drive E?

I had tried searching on Google's and some says to Right-Click on My Computer and click Manage. Well, there's no Manage when I right-click on My Computers. Even when I get into System Properties > Device Manager > "whatever disk" > Properties > Settings -- the place where it says "Reserved drive letters" are all grayed out except the CD-Rom and CD-RW.

I am not connected to a network. Any suggestions? Thanks.

This will work in both win2k and XP. Goto Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management->Disk Management. Then Right click on the drive you want to change. Then select 'Change drive letter and paths'.

This will allow you to change the drive letter's.

To change your drive letters in Win98 and ME right click on the My Computer icon and select Properties. In that menu select the hard drive or other drives. Right click on it and select Properties. In the Settings menu you should see an area where you can change drive letters. Be careful to make sure all drives have their own letters before clicking on Apply and OK.

Well I want to change my Iomega Zip Drive to drive letter B. The thing is, on the drop down menu under "Reserved Drive Letters", there is no B. Right now is drive E. The first letter in the drop down menu is letter D.

Make sure you have drives A: and B: set correctly in your BIOS settings. If it does not show B: is enabled then enable it. 🙂

johnlog, how do i get into BIOS setting to enable drive B:?
I've never done BIOS before. I've got Windows 98se

Like I said above... everything is correct except for my Zip
and CD-RW. I want drives A:, B:, C:, D:, E: respectively.

In other words -- I want drive...

A: is Floppy Drive
B: is Zip Drive
C: is Local Disk
D: is CD-ROM
E: is CD-RW

NOTE -- Some more details.

When I get onto System Properties,
Device Manager, clicked on the plus sign next to CDROM...

...highlight my CD-ROM > Properties > Settings -->
the Current drive letter assignment is D:
and Start/End drive letters are both D and has a pull down menu.

...highlight my CD-RW > Properties > Settings -->
the Current drive letter assignment is F:
and Start/End drive letters are both F and has a pull down menu.

When I get onto System Properties,
Device Manager, clicked on the plus sign next to Disk drives...

...highlight my Floppy drive > Properties > Settings -->
the Current drive letter assignment is A:
and Start/End drive letters are both blank and grayed out / no pull down menu.

... highlight my Zip drive > Properties > Settings -->
the Current drive letter assignment is E:
and Start/End drive letters are both blank and grayed out / no pull down menu.
