How to do it? I am setting up a new dell system for relatives that want the default language as spanish. The dell software hotline has an answering machine that says all representatives are busy, call back later, then hangs up! Bastards! I've gone so far as reinstall windows from the dell cd, after selecting spanish as the default language, it still displays only english. What the heck? Please help me before I go nuts. :(

ps. I think I have finally found the right forum. Sorry about the other posts mod peoples, which included my first ever locked post btw.

You need to buy the Spanish version of WinXP, or install the WinXP MultiLanguage User Interface (MUI) over the top of the English version.

Simply changing the default language is not enough: that is used for writing documents, spell checking, web page encoding and a few other things. It does not change the language of the dialogues.

I doubt that Dell will exchange your WinXP for a Spanish version (unless you are in Spain), so you may need to talk directly to Microsoft. As far as I know, the MUI is only available to Corporate Licence holders, such as Microsoft Select participants.
