Cortana can be of great help to control your computer hands-free, but it needs to speak the same language you do. With these simple steps in the tutorial, you´ll be able to change the settings to make this great assistant match your needs.
Step 1
Go to 'Start' Menu
Press-down your keyboard key with the Windows logo on it; left-click or tap if tactile the Windows logo located at bottom left corner of your screen. Your life will be there at a glance.
Step 2
Go to ‘Settings’
Click with your mouse on ‘Settings’. All the fine-tuning options for 'Windows' will be there.
Step 3
Go to ‘Personalization’
Go to the ‘Personalization’ icon. This will allow you to personalize your Windows experience as much as you like.
Step 4
Go to ‘Region & Language’
Go to ‘Region & Language’. This will grant you access to the options regarding the ‘Region & Language’ settings of your Windows 10.
Step 5
Go to ‘Add a language’ Click on the ‘plus’ sing near ‘Add a Language’. This will bring up a complete list of all the languages available at Windows 10.
Step 6
Select Your Desired Language
If you see the language you want at the list, click on it to select it.
Step 7
Select ‘Set as default’
Click on ‘Set as Default’ from the three options provided. This action will make the newly-selected language your default one.
Step 8
Make Your Computer's Region Match the Selected Language
All the regions available are at the drop-down menu available at the right of your screen. Select the region that matches the language you set as default.
Step 9
Go to Language Options
Click on the ‘Options’ option to enter the menu to further tweak what you can do with the selected language.
Step 10
Download ‘Language’ and ‘Speech’ Packs
Click on each of the ‘Download’ buttons for ‘Language’ and ‘Speech’ . Doing this will download Cortana´s voice in that language.
Step 11
Go to ‘Settings’
Click on the ‘Settings’ option at the bottom of the screen (you may have to scroll down for this). This menu will allow you to change the settings on the language you´ve just downloaded.
Step 12
Select the New language When on ‘Settings’
Click on the language you've downloaded the speech pack for. Selecting this language will change the language in which your computer´s speech (AKA Cortana) works.
Step 13
Check on ‘Recognize non-native accents’
Click on the box for this option. This is good in case you are a non-native speaker and to make Cortana more accurate.
After you have completed all the steps in this tutorial, you need to restart your computer for the changes to make effect.
