How to change computer names with active directory

Leave domain, change name, rejoin domain. There might be a beter way though, not a lot of call for it where I work, so we never figured out if there was a better way.
 
It's not necessary to remove the computer from the domain to rename it. Assuming you have domain admin rights on the domain (which you would need to readd the machine anyway), you can just rename the machine. It will prompt for domain admin credentials, and then you reboot. That's it.
