How to change boot programs in windows XP?

I'm a 98 person at heart so I dont know my way around XP at all. How do I take out and put in some programs that turn on when windows boots?

Go to run / msconfig / startup tab. Same as win98.

msconfig will allow you to stop programs from loading.
To have programs automatically load on boot, add their shortcut to the Startup folder in the start menu.
