How to change a dynamic disk to primary

Im trying to create a complete disk image via Vista's backup center; however, when I try and choose my 2nd drive to store the backup image, it says I cant because its dynamic. Im assuming it needs to be a primary drive? How can I change it to store the image?

1. Create a backup image.

2. Goto Computer Managment > Storage > Disc Management

3. Select appropriate Volumes

4. Right Click and Delete Volumes

5. Click Convert to Basic Disc

Edit: You'll lose your data but hey you have the backup.

Ugh. The problem is the disk where I want to store the backup image is pretty large, and fairly full. No where to put the stuff to delete and re-create. And my C drive (the one I want to backup) isnt big enough to store stuff either.

Oh well. Maybe a third party solution.
