I was wondering if there is a way to capture a streaming video from the internet? The video is not "live" or anything and I can fast forward and reverse as much as I want, so it's just a regular video.... but I can't figure out how to save it to my hard drive. The video uses Windows Media Player to open, and I think I have access to most all of the WMP options while the video is playing, but I can't find a save function. Also, is it possible to do this without a capture card? I sure would think so. I'm downloading it to view it... it's gotta save it somewhere.....realmad.gif

P.S. Yes, I'm sure it's streaming video.

Which browser are you using?
All I know in FireFox, you click on Tools -> Page Info -> Media and scroll down the list until you find the video then click on Save As. Most of the times the video show up as an "Embed" or an "Object". To make sure check the size of the file. Sometimes this method doesnt work as the website purposely blocks the user from d/l their video through redirect links or scripts. Ifilm.com does this. If anybody figures out a way to save the videos from Ifilm.com please share.

If it's open in WMP, try File > Save As (in wmp). Always works for me. If it's playing from an embedded wmp, try going to the properties of the wmp and copying location and pasting it in regular wmp and then saving as, or creating an html link and save as from there.

BadKarma, i've saved several videos from ifilm by hacking around the page source and creating an html file with links. Sometimes you have to mess around with the protocol like for example changing mms:// to http etc. I haven't been there in a while though.. not sure if it still works.
