How to capture streaming audio

I want to capture music from like from HERE and save it as MP3s to cut down for ringtones to use on my cellphone.

How is this done?

choose "stereo mix" as your recording device and use a program such as audacity.

Stream Ripper might be able to do it.

If you do not like using the command line, I wrote a graphical front end for it with additional features.

I have audicity, I use it to cut down songs to make them into ringtones but I can't figure out how to set it to stereo mix for recording.

It was designed to rip streams from Shoutcast.com and the other two internet radio sites listed in the "find new streams" tab by you downloading the .pls or .m3u files (when you hit tune in) into the RipSmart folder that you pick and it will automatically start the ripping process.

You might be able to start it manually (if the website does not use .m3u or .pls files) in the new streams (not the find new streams) tab by copy / pasting the web address of the stream into the text box that is enabled when the manual start radio button in checked.

I use the audio creation mode on my SB X-Fi, change settings in record to "what you hear" hit record, play stream, hit stop, save as wave them convert to mp3.

What type of sound card/onboard sound do you have? Have you installed the latest drivers for it?
