How to, cant play HD?

I just bought a GATEWAY LCD FPD2185W, but i cant seem to play any apple quicktime trailers, and if i do, they sure dont look as good as what ive seen in the store playing on the screens. I remember crapping my pants looking at an HD vid at circuit city.

Ive got enough system power to run them, and the full quicktime pro 7 + latest windows media.

I am missing something, or just stupid.
 
If you would like to watch HiDef TV on your monitor, I highly recommend the DVICO Fusion5 card. It allows you to watch HD over the air and cable.
 
what hardware do you have in the way of vid card and cpu?

also, I hope you realize the important part is that your monitor doesn't support the HD resolution of those videos... that's why LCD's kinda suck still.
