Contact your bank, since it will take atleast a day to clear. Other than that, whats the big deal? Transfer it back after it clears, or request a check from them if needed.

The problem is that he might not have enough fund in his account. That means overdraft charges for however many they need to add more fund for this transfer.
I think it will bounce then. I'd still get in touch with the bank and put a 'stop payment' on it, which I'm sure can with electronic transfers too. Paypal may charge you for it 'bouncing', I don't know, but I'd protect my record at the bank first.
