I'm looking for a good garment bag that i can bring along with me as a carry-on luggage

it needs to be able to fit at least a suit and a few dress shirts

does anyone have any suggestions?

If you've ever bought a nice suit they usually come with them.

Now that I think about it, thats the only way I've ever gotten one, never seen them sold individually.

You might want to call your local suit or tailoring store.

yep i was looking at the samsonite garment bags but i can't seem to find inside pictures of what it looks like with a suit inside

i am hoping to get something that won't wrinkle my suits too much

Readily available at thrift shops.

Need to find a garment bag too but I don't want a luggage one. All the searches yield bags that are meant to be taken on trips. I want the ones you get for free when you buy a coat or suit at Banana Republic or the Men's Warehouse. Where can I get those?

go to one of those places and see if you can buy one?

Look for one with a way to lock several hangers inside the bag. Some fold in half, some you can roll up. Don't bother with puches and pockets, anything you put in them will just mess up your suit.

Mikey - Good idea. I wonder if they'd sell me one. The one I got from BR works very well and has a special zipper system that has a special slot for the hook on the hanger. Also, there is a hole on the bottom so I can fold it in half (up) and route the hook through it. This makes for easier carrying.

Where do you get your bags Mikey?

Just make sure it really is the correct size to carry on. And remember, if you're one of the last 10 people to board, it might not matter how small your bag is if they ran out of space on the airplane.
Which means it would be tagged and sent underneth. And you'll have to claim at luggage claim. And if you leave the hook hanging instead of secured, it may disappear, get damaged or snag in the baggage belt sytem--happens all the time.

Think ahead--save yourself a lot of trouble.
