I have couple of movies in VOB format which I had dumped it into my hard disk. Now I want to burn this into a DVD. Which is the best software that can take existing VOB files and burn them as a DVD movie? I have tried Nero but it takes lot of time.

Well you can't just burn a VOB file onto a DVD-R and expect it to play in a player. You must author it correctly with some authoring software. I am not sure of what Nero can do, but I recommend DVDAuthor 1.6 or the newer 3.0.

Depending on the speed of your computer, and your writer it can take anywhere from 15-45 minutes to author and burn a disc.

If you ripped it from a dvd, then there should be other files that comes with the VOB, those file basically tell where the movie begins, timing, etc. Anyway, try using Nero, and select DVD Video when they ask you what kind do you want to burn, then drag all the files that's related to it into the burn area and burn it.

don't you just open nero, select DVD Video, and then drop your vob files into the VIDEO_TS folder?

You don't even have to do that... although it saves one step. You can just create a VIDEO_TS folder and drop the vob files into that... even if there's no menu, your DVD player should play the movie automatically from the beginning.
