How to Burn off when its too big...

I just downloaded Hannibal and it is 1.0 gb...now in order to burn off it needs to be at max 700 mb...is there any way to cut a mpeg or avi into two separate files? Or is there any other way of burning these off?

I think it would be more of a pain in the ass, then going out spending 20 bucks, and buying it.
