Here's the deal..
Does your burner support overburn? some of the newer HPs do...
if yes then you need software that can overburn line nero
get it here.

Now should be able to do it on an 80 min cd :D

If that doesn't work, just shorten one of the tracks that has silence at the end or something by 2-3 seconds using a wav editor.

I shouldn't admit this, but I made a copy of that CD and I didn't have any problems. It was in my bosses Dell with an HP burner I think. It has EZ CD Creater software. I just needed an 80 minute CD. I thought it was only 78 minutes of music, but I could be wrong.

hi pg, after i listed all the tracks it said i had 80 min 2 sec i just figured the 2 sec was an attempt to prevent burning....worked on me!

i just burned the same CD the other day...

if you're gonna rip it to mp3 first then use a program like AudioCatalyst which has an option that will let you trim the silence off the end of songs so they will fit...

Just so you know, you really don't need those 80 min CDs. I regularly burn 80 on 74 minute with no problem. Haven't had a bad one yet, but I don't know if this will happen the same for you. I use a pair of Plextors and CDRWin. I just burned an 800 meg successfully on a 650 meg this week. Now that the prices of these things have fallen, you can afford to experiment. I can remember when CDs were $7 a piece and ya didn't dare experiment. I recommend CDRWin, although there are some very nice features built into Nero, my second choice. Nice thing about CDRWin, it has built in MP3 decoding on the fly for great MP3 to CD burns.

There have been 99-minute media out for a while now. Most burners will burn up to 89 minutes, with a couple burning all the way to 99 like the Ricoh drive. There are a couple sites which detail this information but I'm pretty sure the HP will write 89 minutes.

As far as CDRwin doing mp3 decoding on the fly, Nero does it as well. Not sure where the benefits are.

leftyman--I don't have that cd, but I'm guessing it has the standard 2 seconds between each track. With Nero, after you've setup your compile, you can highlight all the tracks you are going to burn, right click, and cut down the silence between tracks. Some people like to have 0 silence. This should give you enough space to squoze it on an 80 min.

Ooops....I believe you have to leave 2 seconds selected for the first track only. Can't remember why. It's standard or something.

Sometimes, I want to sqouze just one more song on, and will select something like .5 sec between tracks. I believe it defaults it down to .33.

Ooops....I don't believe you can just use "copy cd" function in Nero for this. You'll actually have to select each track, and burn it as if it were a compilation.

Also, the table that rlism linked.

And, you can use CDRidentifier to see how many minutes your specific 80 minute cd will burn, without "overburning".

First off, use cdrwin or nero. I prefer cdrwin.
Second burning 80min of data onto an 80min cdr is NOT overburning. Overburning is when you write 80min onto a 74min cdr. So you need to make sure that the CDRW supports 80min cdr. A firmware update will most likey take care of that if it doesnt support them.
Third, GasPath...I highly doubt that you burned 800mb onto a 650mb cd. This is quite impossible. I think you ment that uou burnned 80min (700mb) onto a 650mb (74min) cdrw.

cheers

Yes, CloneCD will work as well. Keep ion mind though that CloneCD is not a cdr mastering program, only a duplicator. That is, you cannot burn individual files, only images. Nero and Cdrwin both are mastering software.
