Seems there is alot more needed if your going to get new pc soon.
If anyone has time love some info or links on this confusing issue.
Is there SuperMicro p4 compatible case? Asus p4 motherboard? Will it work with 2hz 512 everyone is talking about incase if I wait it out? Should I wait it out?, etc. I looked at 3 most popular hardware sites and I do not really see any info on this, besides sentence here or two in reviews about waiting.

The 512KB L2 cache variant "Northwood" of the P4 will come out in socket-478 - the ASUS P4T and P4TM (micro ATX) only accept Socket-423 (that's currently Wilamette, though Wilamette will be availabel in Socket-478 as well, until Northwood comes out).

Intel has actually a little thing on "optimizing your P4 system" on the www - which saves me much repeated typing. You can find the script HERE.

It boils down to installing in the right order & not forgetting the CHIPSET DRIVER (called INF-update) and the STORAGE DRIVER (called IDE-Storage driver) at the right time (i.e.: straight after the OS install). You can find these drivers HERE.

NOTE: These will only work on Pentium 4 boards that are based on INTEL chipsets. If you (will) have a board with an SIS/VIA/whoever chipset, you'll have to check on their www-sites for chipset drivers.

Hope this helps you out for now :). If you need more help, PM me or something :D.
