I would guess you will need a way to pressurize water, then a valve to release the pressure and water.

Hand pumping can only produce so much pressure, perhaps you need an air compressor to provide massive compression. I think I saw this on junkyard wars.

hand pumping can produce a lot of pressure.... but you need a good strong container to hold it...
You need a good strong container to hold the air, decent sized water holder, and a good mixer to get maximum distance and velocity :)

Not cost effective to make :)

an Indian Tank (what firefighters use to battle brush fires) has always worked well for me.... Nearly as effective as a garden hose, but portable.

1 1/2" hose with a reducer fitting to 3/8" tied to the water main. It won't knock you over, won't knock the other person over, but they're gonna think twice about messing with you :)

Yeah, but I'm sure many people here are expert hand pumpers...

Define ultimate?

Try picking up a supersoaker cps 2000 (about 8 years old). That is the most powerful consumer water gun in the world. Shooting someone in the eye with that will leave them with blurry vision for about 2 days. Good luck finding one.

Anyways, since hasbro acquired larami, the latest supersoakers are pussified.

back in highschool I tried locating a cps 2000 but ended up with a cps2500, the newer weaker version of the monster. It shoots pretty hard, but i wish i had the 2000

I have a CPS 1500, which is still damn powerful. Unfortunately, I left it outside for a few seasons and it became brittle and worn. During a recent pool party, the tank got a big ole crack in it. I am contemplating patching it up with some epoxy... it kicks ass compared to the pussy ones they got these days.

PS - Anybody know where I can get a 2000?

I have a SuperSoaker 2000(I don't think its the cps kind though.. it has two long green tanks, and one smaller yellow tank on the rear..?).. It doesen't work anymore, needs to be gone through. I bet it would work again with new seals and such.

open hydrant that connects to fire engine (not truck, as those do not pump water)
Get 1 1/2 inch line, but a smoothbore nossel at the tip. At default setting, it should be 50 pounds of pressure at the tip. That should be more than enough.

I got a SuperSoaker CPS 2500. When I use it, I usually follow these steps:
1. Fill gun (2 minutes)
2. Pump gun (2 minutes)
3. Shoot gun (1 second)
4. Fill gun (2 minutes)

And so on.

I bought a super soaker around 1998 for a show I was doing. I played the villain and people were "encouraged" to throw popcorn at me. Well, some folks would invariably start throwing water, bring water guns, etc. So I bought that thing. Could hit anybody in the first 8 rows from dead centerstage. Was priceless.

i have one of those. with the twin barells and the four diffents types of water streams for different pressures and spay areas and the top mounted handle trigger. those things would hole about 3/4 gallon and use it all in about 2 full shots. when i first got it i modded it to use one of the super soaker back packs too for extra water, god that thisng ws awesome. it think it is at my granmothers an dbroken though.
