How to build a computer?

not a good place to ask that question. it usually helps to have onsite help and just plain experience of going "oh $hit!" what did i do!?!?!

haha. <sigh>

if you search for pretty much your exact question in this forum, you'll get quite a few hits, and they are very informative.

read everything computer related you can get your hands on, and i mean EVERYTHING. that's what i did, read everything i could for 6 months then shelled out the cash 🙂

I think your title should be like..
"where can I find PC-Building giude?" or something like that..
People will give you some very useful links.. like this one.
Good luck.

p.s>I've never built a computer.. 🙂

here's how YOU should build a computer... call 1-800- Gateway... they will custom build you something... then when stuff breaks. you will have someone to help... i used to tell people they should build one, but anymore i spend 15 hours a week doing FREE tech support... like my 50 hours at work are *Fun* as well. seriously, just order a retail machine. make some big corporate conglomerate rich... please.

Look around- you'll find sites that will tell you how to "build a computer". Personally, I think you can learn just about as much by buying a 386 or 486 , tear it apart and put it back together a couple of times......

i remember when i first tried to make a pc, it was a 286 and the parts for it were around 1800 way back when. my xt case alone was like 180. it all went well except for the dumb 5.25 floppy cable, which i had upside down...other than that, it wsa a success😀
