How to bring PS2 on a plane? Hand luggage or in cargo?

It is a fact that baggage handlers pride themselves in the amount of loft they can get on your baggage as its thrown from them to a conveyor belt. I was thinking hand luggage but is it at all possible that some moronic airport security will think my PS2 is a bomb and not let me on...?

You should be able to carry it on, they'll just make you run it through the X ray and you should be fine.

OK cool. I wonder will the memory card get buggared by the computer? I think I'll shove that in cargo.

I hate having to turn my cell phone on and enter the setup screen and all that junk just for their amusement...

I would wrapped the PS2 in clothing (if you have any carrying onboard) and check it in as cargo...

but the PS2 is not that heavy no? I rather hand-carry it though.

I would be more concerned with theft than with rough handling carrying it in checked baggage. I recommend hand-carrying it.

I think i'll hand carry it. I'll be MOST pissed if they say "sorry, looks like a bomb" and I have to leave it at the airport. I'll kiss it goodbye forever. Cargo I think that even wrapping under magic clothing and protectors its a risky endeavour given the throwing that these places do and I dunno how stong a PS2 is internally.

I'll be sure to make the PS2 isn't connected to an alarm clock with wires. I'll be further sure to make sure that any explosive jokes are also kept well out of the airport :)

Yeah, it'll probably be cause to have your carry on opened and checked out by the guy at the walk through xray. Every time I've had something electronic in my carry on, they've checked it.

When I flew to LAX from Detroit, I had my keys with me because I had drove up to the airport, rather then getting someone to drop me off. Well, silly me, I also have a 45 bullet on my keychain. It's made to the US Army's specs as a dummy round (hole drilled into the side of the case about half way up). In addition, I had popped out the primer and stuck the little chain in there and soldered it. It couldn't be made functional at all, not without another case (and then why would I bring it like that, the case would have shown up in my damn carry on). Well, I dropped my keys in the little tray, walked through the metal detector (boots didn't set it off even), and on the other side, the security guard was holding my keys, by the bullet. I tried to explain it couldn't be made to fire, but she wouldn't listen. I had to go back, check it in one of my carry ons (I had packed light into two carry ons to avoid checking my bags...) before they'd let me on the plane. In retrospect, it WAS my fault, but it was pretty damn obvious that bullet wasn't going to fire.

And here's karma for you, less then two weeks later, the damn thing fell off my keychain and I lost it.
