How to benchmark Q3?

I've had the game forever but never done benchies with it... is there a certain demo that everyone uses? Walk me through it. 😀
 
Not sure what demo everyone uses but here's some stuff to start with.

Bring down the console with the ` key and type:

/timedemo 1

then either run a demo with the "/demo X" command where X is the demo name or simply close the console and use the menu to run a demo. When the demo is done bring the console back down to see the results.

There is a ton of cool stuff you can do with the console in Quake and if you ever get a chance checkout some of the other commands at planetquake or something. If you want to just poke about a bit use /cmdlist or /cvarlist to get a list of commands and variables. When in doubt, just type a / and the first letter of the command and hit tab to autocomplete.
