hey i have a 500 watt generic PSU (specs) that came with my case. I have been running my computer for the past two months without any problems whatsoever (not even a single lockup). However, just yesterday i received a message from some nvidia program telling me that it underclocked my card because of power requirements and then my screen started to flicker on and off every minute so i rebooted and the problem hasnt happened again. How can i tell if my psu is good or not? any benchmarks?

system specs:

Athlon Fx-53 939
asus A8V deluxe
BFG Geforce 6800 Ultra OC
1024mb value select corsair cas 2.5
WD Raptor 74gig

use the asustool program that came with your mobo and it will tell you what the voltages are. go to the history tab and select voltage and record, then play a game or something and see how stable they all are

Run a heavy benchmark test (prime95/3dmark) and use a multimeter to read your voltages.
