try the Image Resizer, which is a part of Microsoft Power Toys
i never tried it, but most PowerToys stuff is pretty cool.

that link I posted explains it quiet well. it's pretty straight forward and applies to batch processing anything (I dunno what else you would batch process, but now you can do it).
