How to Backup Single Drive of a Dynamic Spanned Volume

Sorry, didnt know quite which forum section to post this since this could be a software, OS, hardware, or whatever else.

I have a computer that has Windows Server 2003 running on it. I have 3 drives as dynamic drives that have been spanned so the data is spanned across the 3 drives without being in a raid setup.

One of the drives in this span has gone bad, but is still readable. Is there any way to backup just this one drive, or would we have to backup everything from the spanned drive to make sure it is alright. The spanned drive is 814GB in total and the individual drive is 320GB with 540GB of space used over the span. The data is saved across all 3 drives simultaneously in this setup.

Is there a way to just backup the one drive of the span and put a new drive with that data on it and just replace the drive with the backup data from that drive and it will work, or does the span screw it up?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Now would ghost actually work. Everything I have read says that ghost will not do something like that.

Is there any program that would do something like that? Will a program like acronis true image server work with something like that? If not will anything else?

I would probably just get a traditional backup done ASAP.

Backup the volume (which includes all 3 physical drives). Replace the bad drive the restore the whole volume.
