I know you copy the Db or Db99 or 2000a directory and then run database convertor when you upgrade to a newer version of ICQ, but what if I currently have icq2000a and want to revert back to icq99b? How would I backup and restore my current icq2000a contact list?

Thanks!

I don't think that downgrading a database is possible.

Anyway, why would you want to downgrade?

So...is it possible? Any patches/hacks/convertors/anything? I really wanna go back to icq99b

BTW, I know that for icq2000a, it keeps all the contacts in the 2000a directory, right?

If that's the case, if I previously put my icq99b's Db directory into my newly installed icq2000a directory and ran the database directory, does that mean it will convert the database into icq2000a format and put it into the 2000a directory, but leave the Db directory untouched?

If that's the case, can't I just reinstall icq99b and put back my Db directory?

the DB99b directory will not be touched after the conversion to 2000a is over

that means
after u started using 2000a, the db99b directory will not be updated AT ALL

you will loose anyone who u added after u got 2000a

no other ways as far as i know

What if I haven't done much since I upgraded to icq2000a? Would I be able to revert back to my previous backed up Db or Db99b folder if I don't mind losing any changes that I might have made since upgrading to icq2000a?
