So I get this ridiculous parking ticket for a really stupid reason which I am not about to go into........they reject my 1st and 2nd appeal. I know they give the ticket by license number......can't I just switch license plater rather than pay the ticket? How much does it cost in Florida? I think it would be cheaper. How does your local university parking ticket system work??

Just pay the damned thing. You obviously deserved it...esp. since you're hiding the "stupid reason"

Why would you even pay it? I would be like hell no I am not paying that thing, and they would say well... its your first offense so don't worry about it. At my school they have to give you like 10 tickets before they are allowed to do anything about it. So don't pay it and see what happens, though if it is different at your school, which I am betting it will be cause you are an American... well then take your chances.

My guess is there's something marked on the ground that you didn't see in a rush to get a spot. Perhaps even a yellow curb which means no parking.

LMAO - you're going through more work and money trying to avoid the ticket than what the actual ticket would cost. Very Costanza of you. :)

Did you park in a handicapped spot twice like a certain Florida football player?

They wouldn't have ticketed you without a reason... Better that you find out WHY they did it before you start complaining about it.

You could have been in a private lot. Just because other people were parked there doesn't mean that you can park there. Maybe it was a lot for commuters only, if you are living there, or vice-versa.

It was probably $15 if you'd pay it within a week or something, right?

Anyways, yes, it goes by license plates, but if the university also has the license plate as registering to you (which they would if you paid for a semester pass), and if so, then you won't receive your transcript before you pay the tickets.

I had a friend that literally racked up $700 in tickets within a year at school. But she was an airhead.

If the University ticketed you, and you attend that University, you will probably have to pay the fine in order to enroll and/or graduate. If you don't attend the university, and you are out of state, write "Visitor" on the ticket, drop it in the mail or whatever, and forget about it. If you are in state, they may be able to take legal action against you. Stupid reason or not, it is best to pay the ticket.

ticket is by license number, and if you registered your car on campus, license number links to student number also. Change plates and you'd still be responsible.

if you had two appeals rejected and you are somehow in the right, you got on the wrong bus....wait for the shorter one...it comes 5 minutes later.

they may link you through the DMV and send a collection agency after you -- I've seen it happen, but it depends on how your school handles it (now and in the future)

If you're a student at the school you probably will be forced to pay. If you're not, don't pay. One thing you can do is fill bottles with a puree of feces and urine add sugar (optional)let it stand for two weeks in a warm place , then blow up water balloons to size with air and stretch them over the neck of the bottle, hold it upside down to allow the air to displace the puree. Take about six of these balloons to the campus parking office and wing 'em as far back as possible. You could also nail one of the parking nazis out on the street somewhere too. Then run of course, and don't get caught(very important).

If making sure none of the other cars had tickets is what you mean when you say you made sure it was a spot....you didn't make sure of anything.

It's $30. Move on.

Funny anecdote, my ex-gf went to a town fair once and parked on a street near the fair. After a couple hours at the fair they walked back to the car, and this is what they found:
1. A Parking Ticket.
2. A Cop putting up signs that say "No parking. Temporary police order."
3. A Cop following the Cop in (2) ticketing the cars that are now illegally parked.

That ticket got overturned pretty easily.

i used to leave an old ticket on my windshield if i parked illegaly, it usually works if i'm in a rush for a few hours. either that, or i photoshop a friends permit.
