how to automatically backup "my documents" to thumbdrive?

Hi - I'm getting my sister a thumbdrive for her upcoming Birthday. I'd like to somehow set her laptop up so that it automatically either backs up to or synchronizes with the thumbdrive. Anybody have any idea how to do this? Thanks!
