How to attach a heatsink

My epox mobo does not have mounting holes for a chipset heatsink, it is glued on. It is a sorry excuse for a heatsink also! It is very hot to the touch and I want to use an active cooler. Any recommendatios on a cooler and how to attach it?

Use a thermal adhesive instead of mounting hardware. I suggest the heatsink made my zalman. It's passive, but works very well. I don't know of any active coolers, but look around on newegg, I think they require mounting holes however.

If it's very hot now... that means it's doing a good job of moving heat!
If your chipset HS will accept it, just mount a 40x40mm (or 50x50mm), fan on it. 😉

Cheap... Easy... Fast... Effective... Non-permanent! 😀
