How to anti-porn a machine

I'm building a rig for a 14yr old cousin of mine. I realize this is somewhat far fetched but I'd like to attempt to make it somewhat "safe" from porn and other garbage.
Now this kid definitely likes to tinker with his computer so it is highly doubtful that any standard "safety" software will work. Also i don't want to lock him out of anything with passwords. I'm hoping there are other options. Perhaps forcing a proxy that disallows porn and other content?

Anyone know any tricks or have any ideas to help make this machine a little safer?

ISA server, if he lives with you, put in an ISA server as a proxy. Off the top of my head other than that, he will see software that is out there to stop him and he might uninstall it. Google for childprotecting a PC.

He is not living with me and is in another state. Google is great until he discovers the preferences tab.

Heh, just sent you a PM and in it I mentioned I was a former ISP owner.
Well, after personal observations with my younger step sister (10-17 till we closed down the ISP) along with a poll we did with our customers regarding this matter, here is what we figured out with kids and the internet.
If you try to block/lock access to something. The kids become curious, this does not apply to internet pornography, but nearly everything in life. When we started our ISP, my step mother was very worried about this very subject and she was talking with my dad one day about how to block it so she could not get into any of it especially since she was very much into boys at the time. They were blabbering for about 30 minutes when I finally came accross and said to the both of them, do not block it, and do not show any objections if you catch her going to any of those sites other then maybe a smirk content like gawd, that stuff is so boring then walk away with no scolding or anything.
Right off the bat my step mother told me I am nuts. I replied with a simple answer. When I was her age I always tried to get away with things that my parents never wanted me to do and succeeded most of the time. My dad kinda popped his eyes open on that asking how often I got away with stuff. I told him the truth, for every time you spanked me, I got away with the same stuff or other similar things about 30 times and had fun doing it because it made me feel more... adultly. Then I turned around and asked my step mother how often did she try getting away with stuff her parents told her she could not do while she was growing up, she replied she tried whenever she felt she can get away with the things too looking down at the floor in a sheepish type of way. My dad said he was the same way.
So they both decided to try out my suggestion. It was a 100% success. When my step sis was 15 and she had a g/f over at the house (neither of them knew I was there) I heard the other girl say do you have full access to the internet. My sis replied yes. Then the other girl replied cool. Lets go look at some p0rn, I know this cool site that I can get into for free. My sis replied to her, nahh. Internet porn is boring, not even my mom cares if I look at that stuff and she said it's boring too.
When we had customers come into our office to sign up and would ask these types of questions we would tell them the story of my sisters success. Most parents agreed that is a pretty nifty solution and those that tried never once complained of their children getting into online porn with 0 exceptions except for the occasional parent that came in and said your advise worked. I seen it in my cache history once and caught him/her and did as you said, I never seen the stuff in my cache history again.
On the other hand, the parents that demanded to have the software loaded onto their computers to block this kind of stuff would drop by and blame it all on us, some even left our service totally getting away from internet. It is all a matter of parenting and self thought. There are those parents that think the best way to stop things is by control, or in this case, parenting by teaching their kids there is nothing of interest on this topic.
The way I see it, and I am a parent of two fine kids now :D, I am not gunna be like my dad and mom were when I was a kid and rule with iron fists. The spankins hurt, but I kept doing the stuff that got me spanked cause I thought thats what adults do for fun ( my deal was the jetty, seawall, and booze... which I still consume regularly :p ). So far it seems to be working... except I think I gotta pull out the iron fists if my 7 year old son does not stop peeing in bed sooner or later. Washing blankets every day or every other day is getting very expensive and tiring :|
